Probability - 1

Probability - 1

The game I played was Hopper, it is played by two players, A and B. Player A can only win if the hopper (chip) lands on letter I, player B can only win if the hopper lands on letters H,J, and K. So each player flips a coin three times if it lands on heads you move the hopper right if the coin lands on tails you move the hopper left and each player has ten turnes. The probability was player A had a 12/16 chance of winning and player B had a 4/16 chance of winning. I perdicted that player A will win. The experimental probability is player A had a 13/20 chance of winning and player B had a 7/20 chance of winning. The experimental probability mactched my theoretical probability because they both showed player A winning. No, the game is not fair, I could make the game fair by player A and B flipping the cion 4 times instead of 3.

Composite Shapes Extended Response

Chelsey needs to get one bag of fertilizer that covers 5,000 sq. ft. The way I found the solution is first I divided the shape into shapes I could measure easly; the shapes are triangle, square, and parallilogram. then I measured the shapes. For the parallilogram, I found the area 1,500 sq. ft. Next I measured the of the square 2,500 sq. ft. After that, I measured the area of the triangle 750 sq. ft. Last, I took the areas of each shape and added them together, which equals 4,750 sq. ft. This is why Chelsey should get the bag that has 5,000 sq. ft. of fertilizer.

Derived Measurement Extended Response

Mark's heart beats 16 times in 15 seconds. At that rate, how many times will it beat in one minute? Be sure to include the appropriate unit.

I know that Mark's heart beats 16 times in 15 seconds. I also know that 15 seconds is a quarter of a minute. So I multiplied 16 by 4, and the product was 64 BPM. The reason I multiplied 16 by 4 is because I know that 15 seconds divides into 1 minute 4 times. That is how I got my solution.

Short Cycle 2

Dear Mom and Dad,

Here are some things I learned in Short Cycle 2. First,I learned what a biased question is. A biased question is a question that leads a person to answer one way, which makes it unfair. An example is "What do you like better the stupid and smelling Rams or the cool, brave, and strong Vinkings?".

A random sample is a sample where everone has a equal chance of being chosen. An example is asking every other person you see because you don't know who it is going to be.

I also learned about many graphs. They are line plots, histograms, and freqency tables.
